Joanna Carson Denied $6,000 Hike in Support
Joanna Carson, estranged wife of “Tonight Show” host Johnny Carson, must continue to scrape by on $44,600 a month in temporary spousal support, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge decided today.
Judge Frances Rothschild denied without comment Joanna Carson’s request for a $6,000 monthly increase.
She had claimed that she was forced to sell stocks and bonds in order to meet her monthly expenses, which she said jumped to $54,000 last October when her husband stopped paying the $5,800 monthly charges for their Hotel Pierre apartment in New York.
She had originally sought $220,000 monthly support, but last year accepted the $44,600 a month pending trial of their divorce.
