Flight Systems Inc., an Irvine-based subsidiary of Tracor Inc., said it has delivered equipment to test defensive electronic warfare systems to Northrop Corp., as part of a $1.1-million contract entered in June, 1984.

Flight System’s product will be used by Northrop’s Defensive Systems Division. Stuart C. Warrick Jr., group vice president for Tracor Flight Systems and president of Flight Systems Inc., said the system “will be used by Northrop for the dynamic environmental testing and evaluation of the electronic warfare de fensive systems on board F-15 aircraft.”

Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America Inc. ranked second among Japanese importers in the number of cars and trucks it sold per dealership last year, the Fountain Valley-based firm said Friday.

However, Mitsubishi Motor Sales, which is the U.S. marketing and distribution arm of Tokyo-based Mitsubishi Motor Corp., showed the lowest overall sales last year among the nation’s seven Japanese automobile and truck importers. Mitsubishi made 56,717 sales, compared to 822,157 sales by Toyota, which was at the head of the pack, followed by Nissan with 689,022 sales, Honda with 508,420 sales, Mazda with 288,793 sales, Subaru with 157,384 sales and Isuzu with 62,610 sales.

But Mitsubishi’s 88 U.S. dealerships sold an average of 687 cars and trucks each month during 1984, which was second only to Toyota’s 760 vehicles per month average, according to Mike Nash, Mitsubishi’s vice president of marketing services.

“We’re especially pleased with our dealers’ accomplishments in 1984 because of the severe limitations placed on our passenger car sales by the voluntary restraint agreement with Japan,” Nash said in a press statement.

Shareholders of Dana Niguel Bank N.A. of Dana Point approved a 3-for-2 stock split, effective Dec. 4, 1984. The split brings to 420,000 the number of shares outstanding. Thomas L. Herndon, bank president and chief executive officer, said that since its opening in Dec. 1982, the bank’s assets have increased to $23 million from $2.4 million.

Directors of EIP Microwave Inc. of Newport Beach has declared a 3 cent dividend on its common stock, payable March 15 to shareholders of record Feb. 28.

Swedlow Inc. of Garden Grove, a manufacturer of acrylic and armor products, declared a quarterly cash dividend of 7 cents a share, payable March 8 to shareholders of record Feb. 22.
