Woolworth will launch two new specialty chains.

New York-based F. W. Woolworth Co. said it will unveil Herald Square Stationers, specializing in greeting cards and other stationery items, and Afterthoughts, an accessories store for women, by midyear. Woolworth already operates the Kinney Shoe and Richman Bros. specialty chains, but the new ventures mark the first move into the retail segment for its U.S. Woolworth division.
