Shootout Kills 2 in Turkish Village

ISTANBUL, Turkey —
A suspected leftist terrorist and a police officer were killed in a shootout in a village in the eastern province of Malatya, the Turkish general staff said.
The announcement said two other suspected terrorists were wounded in the clash. Guns, ammunitions and a wireless were seized in the gunmen’s hideout after the operation last week, the announcement added.
The announcement did not give the name of the terrorist organization to which the people allegedly belong.
