Italian Olympics gold medalist and pentathlete Daniele Masala has been honored by Coto de Caza Development Corp., which named a street after him in the private Trabuco Canyon community.

Via Masala is in the new Ranchos Colinas subdivision near Coto de Caza’s equestrian center, site of the modern pentathlon’s riding, fencing and running competition. It contains sites for custom home development by individual property owners.

“To commemorate Coto de Caza’s involvement in the Olympics and to honor the Italian gold medalist, we decided to make a permanent statement that would endure indefinitely,” according to Richard F. Boultinghouse, president of the development firm.
