Two developments have reported camp-outs by buyers, resulting in heavy sales. Six families camped out for 2 1/2 weeks at Corky McMillin’s Hunters Pointe--with temperatures dipping as low as 26 degrees--for the seventh and final phase of 17 three- and four-bedroom, 1,879- to 3,250-square-foot homes priced from $175,900 to $267,900. A total of 10 sales were made, seven in the final phase. The model homes are at 11765 Timberlake Drive off Scripps Ranch Boulevard.

The other camp-out was by 17 people for three days at the Baldwin Co.’s Windwood community in Carmel Del Mar and resulted in the sale of 12 of the available 26 homes in one weekend. Windwood, east of Del Mar, comprises 116 paired single-family homes from 1,106 to 1,610 square feet, with two and three bedrooms and two to three baths, priced from $116,900 to $134,900. It is at 2960 E. Carmel Valley Road.

All 40 homes in the first two phases of Parkside, in Rancho Cucamonga, have been sold and the developer, Lewis Homes, plans an early opening of Phase 3. The project offers one- and two-story, three- and four-bedroom homes from 1,600 to 1,896 square feet, priced from $113,950 to $130,000. Lewis says the homes combine “imaginative design, moderate prices and flexible floor plans that enable homeowners easily to transform extra bedrooms into dens or home offices.” Parkside is at 7363 Greenbrier Place.
