South Korean Cabinet Quits; Reshuffle Seen
From Reuters
SEOUL, South Korea —
The South Korean Cabinet resigned after meeting today to assess the results of last week’s general elections, the state-run Korean Broadcasting System reported.
The resignation was expected in the wake of reports that the Cabinet would be reshuffled after a new opposition party backed by dissident Kim Dae Jung made surprise gains in the voting.
A new Cabinet is expected to be named soon.
