Police Funds

As a candidate for mayor of Los Angeles I am strongly opposed to the plans of both Mayor Tom Bradley and Councilman John Ferraro to increase the size of the Los Angeles Police Department.

It is both ironic and tragic that while there is no money available for housing the homeless, and transit workers are facing wage and benefit cuts while the Rapid Transit District is threatening riders with higher fares and less service, we have these two mayoral candidates wanting to give millions of dollars ($125 million in one proposal) to the Police Department.
