The National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People will move its national headquarters to Baltimore after more than seven decades in New York, Enolia McMillan, the group’s president, said today.

McMillan, who also heads the NAACP’s Baltimore chapter, said the organization’s board of directors voted to leave its current New York headquarters when its lease expires in August. McMillan said Baltimore was selected because of its convenient location and because affordable property for the offices was available there.
