The Region : Bradley Leads, Poll Says
Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, running for a fourth term, leads his main challenger, Councilman John Ferraro, 70% to 15% in a public opinion survey of 975 people by television station KCBS. The survey also showed that a majority of voters do not blame Bradley for city problems. Of the 40% who said that Los Angeles has become a worse place, most did not blame the mayor; of the 30% who said the city had improved, a majority gave the mayor credit. A total of 51% opposed Occidental Petroleum Corp.’s plan to drill for oil in Pacific Palisades, which Bradley supports, but most said the decision would not make them vote against the mayor.
