Union Leaders Face U.S. Charges

WASHINGTON —
The government filed formal charges today against three union presidents who have been vocal critics of President Reagan, saying their support of Walter Mondale’s presidential campaign violated federal law.
The controversial Hatch Act prosecutions have been denounced by virtually every major union in America. The three charged are Kenneth Blaylock of the American Federation of Government Employees, Moe Biller of the American Postal Workers Union and Vincent Sombrotto of the National Assn. of Letter Carriers.
