Unit 1 of Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant resumed operation after being shut for a week to repair a leaky gasket and adjust a monitoring device, a Pacific Gas & Electric Co. spokesman said. The plant on the San Luis Obispo County coast was expected to reach 75% capacity, utility spokesman Ron Weinberg said. That is the highest level at which the plant has operated since it received its full-power license last November and began a final round of tests. The plant is expected to begin producing power commercially this spring.
