73 Amsterdam Heroin Deaths in ’84

AMSTERDAM — Police announced Tuesday that 73 people--most of them foreigners--died of heroin overdoses last year in Amsterdam, compared to 56 in 1983.
In a 1984 review, police reported that West Germans formed the largest single national group among the 1984 victims, accounting for 35 fatalities. They would not reveal other nationalities.
