Jazz Great Kid Ory’s Horn Stolen
A trombone that once belonged to the late and legendary jazzman Edward (Kid) Ory was stolen from the Hollywood home of his daughter Wednesday night, Los Angeles police said today. The custom-made instrument, which is said to be invaluable in historical terms, was worth $15,000, according to Babette Ory, although police said they understood it was valued at about $4,000.
