Nay Named Chargers’ Director of Scouts

Ron Nay, a Charger scout since 1978, was named director of scouting Wednesday, owner Alex Spanos announced.

Nay will replace John Trump, who was released by the organization.

Nay, 44, formerly a scout at the collegiate level, will be in charge of both collegiate and professional scouting operations.

After a collegiate career at Westminster College in Utah, Nay has served as head coach at Westminster, assistant coach at Kansas and UCLA and a scout for the Quadra combine.
