Structure to Be Built for ‘War Games’
Construction is scheduled to start this month on a control center for U.S. Army armored division “war games” that feature highly sophisticated laser “battles.”
The $3.9-million Core Instrumentation Facility will be built at Ft. Irwin National Training Center in the Mojave Desert. Completion is expected by July, l986.
The 24,000-square-foot building was designed by Howard R. Lane FAIA Associates architectural firm of Woodland Hills. It will include a 58-seat theater, offices, conference room and a high-security computer operations center.
