Shultz to Visit Australia in July
Secretary of State George P. Shultz will visit Australia in July for talks with Prime Minister Bob Hawke, the State Department said today.
Praising the “wide-ranging cooperation,” it receives from Australia, the State Department said Shultz has accepted the invitation from Foreign Minister Bill Hayden. It said the talks will cover issues which would normally have been considered at the annual meeting of the ANZUS defense alliance which has been postponed indefinitely because of New Zealand’s anti-nuclear policies.
