General Motors Corp. on Wednesday said that it was recalling 2,700 of its 1984 and 1985 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am cars for free replacement of defective 16-inch cast-aluminum wheels.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press said that it had reported erroneously on Tuesday that the auto maker will recall 290,000 Cadillacs from the 1981 and 1982 model years to fix potentially defective pollution-control devices. GM is recalling those cars from the 1982 and 1983 model years.
