Dreaming of a Double-Duty Daybed

Marion Bomanz of Fullerton would like to find an Englander sofa bed, without arms and back. Basically, this is a daybed consisting of two springs with mattresses, with one spring sliding under the other; when needed, the lower frame can be pulled out and will spring up to make a double bed. Can you help Bomanz with her bedtime story, or will she spring to arms in the realization that there’ll never be an Englander?

Last December, R. Leonard Black of Torrance searched the Los Angeles area for small wooden kegs filled with brandied dates, but he didn’t find what he was looking for and had to go without a date for the holidays. This year, he wants to make sure that he’ll be able to celebrate in the correct spirit. Can you help, or will Black again be branded as never being up to date when it comes to year-end entertaining?

Kitty Norman of La Puente, who has just moved into a condo, needs dining room furniture that takes up as little space as possible. Where is there, she wonders, a wall cabinet that stores the chairs and opens up to make a dining room table? She knows that the item was available some years ago, but at that time she didn’t need it. Barbara Simmergren of Long Beach, who was trying to find a purse organizer, may have to pursue the subject a little while longer. Barbara Moe of Santa Ana, who also had a difficult time locating a purse organizer, writes that she saw one recently on Page 63 of a Miles Kimball catalogue; the address is 41 West 8th Ave., Oshkosh, Wis. 54901. And Jeanne Garrison of Hermosa Beach says Joan Cook, 3200 S.E. 14th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, Fla. 33316, advertises a purse organizer in her catalogue; the item is called a “purse pouch.”

Henry Sevcik of Hawthorne, who was looking for an independent telephone repairer, may yet make the right connection. C. A. Cantin of Malibu says he has almost 30 years’ experience in installing, rewiring and repairing telephones. Now, after years with Bell and General Telephone, he does the work on his own.
