Tandon signed a new parts contract with IBM.

Neither Chatsworth-based Tandon Corp. nor International Business Machines Corp., the company’s largest customer, would discuss details of the contract to supply microcomputer memories. In January, IBM canceled a larger contract with Tandon, dealing a serious blow to the company since the computer giant accounted for 58% of Tandon’s $400.7 million in sales last year. Shipments of the floppy disks are expected to resume within the next few weeks and continue through Tandon’s third quarter, which ends June 28.
