George Saterson has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Charlton Associates. Saterson, 59, succeeds Richard J. Charlton, the firm’s founder, who will serve as chairman and chief executive officer.
Irvine-based Charlton supplies rigid (memory holding) discs to makers of electronic equipment.
Saterson most recently served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of the company. In his new position, he will continue to run daily operations, while Charlton will focus on long-range strategic planning.
Before joining Charlton in April, 1984, Saterson was president and chief operating officer of Docutel Corp., a manufacturer of automated teller machines.
