An obscure guerrilla group claimed responsibility for the assassination of Salvadoran army Col. Ricardo Cienfuegos. Unidentified callers to a San Salvador radio station said that members of the Clara Elizabeth Ramirez Brigade were responsible for killing Cienfuegos, the army's chief spokesman.
