The book-to-bill ratio--the proportion of new orders to shipments--rose to 0.79, up from 0.66 in January, the Semiconductor Industry Assn. reported. “February’s bookings improvement is the result of a slight increase in demand from both the OEM (original equipment manufacturers) and distribution markets, as well as a slowing in cancellations and reschedules by end customers,” said Thomas D. Hinkelman, president of the Semiconductor Industry Assn.
