Three North County residents have been elected to three-year terms on the Utility Consumers Action Committee’s board of directors. Alan Razovsky was the only new UCAN board member elected. Razovsky, an electrical engineer from Encinitas, joins incumbents Tania Bowman and Robert Spanjian, who were reelected to posts they’ve held since the committee was formed in March, 1984. The three will serve on the nine-member board that governs UCAN, a nonprofit consumer group. It is supported by membership fees solicited from San Diego Gas & Electric Co. customers, who receive the organization’s messages in SDG&E; monthly billings four times a year. The fees are used to hire legal and technical experts to oppose the utility’s requests for rate increases.
