Culver City : Mayor Recovers at Home After Hit-Run Crash

Share

Mayor Paul Jacobs is recovering at home from injuries he suffered when the car he was driving last Thursday was struck broadside by a hit-and-run driver at Washington Boulevard and Arlington Avenue in Los Angeles.

Jacobs, 43, was taken to Brotman Medical Center with a broken rib, broken collarbone and a scalp cut. He was released Tuesday and said, “I’m doing fine.”

Jacobs was going to his law office when, witnesses said, a man in a blue sedan ran a red light on Washington Boulevard and slammed into Jacobs’ car, which hurtled into a third vehicle. The driver reportedly stopped for a moment to survey the scene and then sped away.

Jacobs said he felt “very, very lucky” that his injuries were not more severe. The mayor said he expects to preside over Monday’s City Council meeting.
