Southern Baptist Tally Reaches 14,185,454

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Southern Baptist membership increased by 164,203 in 1984 to 14,185,454 in what continues to be the largest U.S. Protestant denomination. The number of congregations increased by 209 to 36,740, the new statistics show.
