As expected, Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert Lloyd moved into the semifinals of a $150,000 women’s tennis tournament at Dallas Friday night, but Lloyd stumbled on her way to a 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 victory over Bonnie Gadusek.

The No. 2-seeded Lloyd was serving with a 6-2, 3-2 lead when, she said, “I lost my concentration a little bit, and let her into the match.”

Gadusek broke serve to even the second set at 3-3. She broke again when Lloyd served for the match at 5-4 and ran off three straight games to close out the set.

In the third set, Gadusek hit out in search of winners, but the steadier Lloyd won the last four games.

“My serve let me down in the second set,” Lloyd said. “Thank heavens, I got a good lead in the third set. I have to get a good percentage of my first serves in to win and, in the third set, I did, and that was the difference.”

The No. 1-seeded Navratilova defeated Claudia Kohde-Kilsch of West Germany, 6-4, 6-3. In today’s semifinals, she will meet No. 3-seeded Helena Sukova, who defeated her in the Australian Open last season. Sukova defeated Bettina Bunge Friday, 1-6, 6-1, 6-3.

Lloyd’s opponent in the semifinals will be unseeded Catarina Lindqvist of Sweden who downed Myriam Schropp of West Germany, 6-1, 6-3.

Swedish Davis Cup players Mats Wilander, Anders Jarryd and Stefan Edberg qualified for the semifinals of $267,000 Belgian Indoor Championships at Brussels. But one Swede did not make it to the final four. That was Joakim Nystrom, who lost to Pat Cash, 6-4, 6-2.

The 19-year-old Cash will meet top-seeded Wilander, who had to fight off a match point Friday to beat Heinz Gunthardt of Switzerland, 6-1, 5-7, 7-5, in a match that lasted more than two hours.

Jarryd defeated Czechoslovakia’s Tomas Smid, 6-4, 6-4, in 90 minutes and will face Edberg today. Edberg advanced with a 7-6, 6-3 victory over Sammy Giammalva.
