The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, a state agency established in 1979 to develop public parks in the mountains of western Los Angeles, has given $150,000 to the City of Los Angeles to complete the Old Mission Trail in the Chatsworth portion of the Rim of the Valley Trail Corridor.

The trail will be just south of the Simi Valley Freeway between De Soto and Tampa avenues. The addition of this part of the trail will mark the completion of the trail, which runs from Omelveny Park above Porter Ranch through Brown’s Canyon and into the Santa Susana Mountains parks.

All of the trails are part of the Rim of the Valley Trail Corridor, which encircles the San Fernando Valley.
