Stephen H. Fitzpatrick has been appointed president of Covington Homes/Orange County, a newly formed division of Covington Technologies, Fullerton. The division headquarters is located at 1748 W. Katella Ave., Suite 103, Orange.

David K. Leichtfuss, former president of Mission Hills Mortgage Co., has joined the Hammond Co. as executive vice president in charge of loan origination and marketing.

Richard St. Denis has been appointed director of sales and marketing for the newly formed Maxim’s Hotel Division of Pratt Hotel Corp. He will be responsible for marketing of Maxim’s Suite Hotel in Palm Springs, scheduled to open in November. The new offices are at 1901 Avenue of the Stars, Century City.

Tom Hover has been named president of the Southern California region of the A-M Co., a Santa Barbara-based home-building firm.

Michael J. Elliott has been appointed vice president of governmental affairs for the Watson Land Co., Los Angeles. He had served as director of corporate affairs for Carl Karcher Enterprises.

Robert Campbell has been named general partner at Birtcher, Laguna Niguel. Prior to this appointment, Campbell was associate partner.

Allen G. Wood, former owner of Propane Sales & Service Co. in Paramount, has been appointed vice president and corporate broker of L’Abri Management Inc., Downey.

The following have been awarded SRA (Senior Residential Appraiser) designation by the board of governors of the International Society of Real Estate Appraisers: Steven C. Millbern and Gerald D. Peyton, both with Property Analysis Corp. in Orange.

E. R. McCollum, president of the Sheldon L. Pollack Corp. in Los Angeles, was presented the “Builder of the Year” award by the Building Industry Assn. for contributions to the industry. He serves on the BIA board of directors at state and local levels.

Palm Springs and Chicago developer Harry F. Chaddick has become a Knight of Malta, a religious honor dating back to the Middle Ages. It is a charitable organization today with 1,300 members in the United States and hundreds of other associations throughout the world.

Taylor Grant, president of the Newport Beach-based Grant Building Co., has received results of historical investigations which establish the Grant family’s home building tradition back nearly 300 years. The Ebenezer Grant House in South Windsor, Conn., the ancestral home, has been accepted into the National Register of Historical Places.
