Sol Schwartz; Former Film Studio Executive

Retired film studio executive Sol A. Schwartz died Saturday in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after suffering a heart attack. He was 81.

A vice president at Columbia Studios and 20th Century Fox before his retirement in 1970, Schwartz began his career with RKO Theaters in New York in 1924 as an assistant manager and rose to become RKO’s president.
