UMW Fined $200,000

WILLIAMSON, W. Va. —
A judge on Wednesday fined the United Mine Workers union $200,000 and found three striking miners in contempt of court for violating an order to limit picketing outside two A. T. Massey Coal Co. subsidiaries. Despite an industrywide accord, the UMW is seeking a separate agreement covering all firms owned by Massey.
