Sen. Sam Nunn (D-Ga.), a runaway winner for reelection last fall, has offered to refund more than a third of his campaign contributions, his spokesman said today.

Ed Nagy, the spokesman, said Nunn has sent a letter to the contributors “offering a pro-rata refund” of 37% of each contribution.

Nunn raised $1.13 million for the 1984 campaign and spent $715,558.

He defeated Republican John Hicks with 79.9% of the vote in the general election after disposing of three candidates in the primary.
