LESTER’S NIGHT OF MANY STARS

A large cast of musical-theater luminaries, led by Mary Martin, Carol Channing, Nanette Fabray and Florence Henderson, will gather April 15 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center to celebrate the 90th birthday of Edwin Lester.

“A Tribute to Edwin Lester--Highlights From His 40 Years,” features excerpts from CLO productions presented under Lester’s direction from 1938 to 1977.

Original artists reprise roles from “My Fair Lady,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Kismet,” “Camelot,” “South Pacific,” “The King and I,” “The Sound of Music,” “Oklahoma!,” “Carousel,” “Show Boat” and “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”

Other performers scheduled to participate: Helena Bliss, Walter Cassel, Gino Conforti, David Eisler, Jean Fenn, Rhonda Fleming, Anne Jeffreys, Dorothy Kirsten, Victoria Mallory, Ricardo Montalban, Patricia Morison, Robert Morse, Patrice Munsel, Maralin Niska, John Raitt, John Reardon, Anne Rogers, Constance Towers, John Tyers, Iggie Wolfington and Bob Wright, among others.

John Green will conduct; musical staging is by Danny Daniels. The show, produced by Arthur Lewis and directed by Ed Greenberg, will benefit the Music Center Unified Fund.
