Cellulite Control Relies on Better Circulation

“M ost of our clients are very, very vain,” says Mitra Chappell, head of Mitra Chappell’s Beauty Clinic in La Jolla. “Most are women who want to look good and be anonymous. They don’t want anyone to know they come (here).

“Cellulite is a fatty tissue lodged between the muscles and tissues. Too much cellulite gives a cottage-cheese look to the legs and skin. It can really detract from beauty and add inches to the body. Most of our clients are more concerned with inches than losing weight. Many have lost weight and now want to look better.

“We remove cellulite by improving circulation, by ridding the body of poisons and toxins. A nutritionist comes in, recommending no spicy food or cheeses. Those only add toxins to the bloodstream. We also do dry brushing to improve circulation. We put on a gel that firms and tones the muscles and skin. We use sauna and massage to cleanse and detox the system. We sometimes hook up connectors to intensify the process, to improve the slimming. We have about 755 clients who receive this treatment.”
