Brahms Beats Rock in Baby-Soothing Test

Babies would rather “rock-a-bye” to Brahms than to the big beat of rock ‘n’ roll, researchers reported Tuesday.
Researchers at Minoo Hospital near Osaka said that 70% to 80% of screaming week-old babies stopped crying when exposed to Brahms Lullaby. But, when exposed to jazz or big beat rock ‘n’ roll, they found 80% to 90% of the babies kept wailing, a report by Kyodo news service said.
