About 200 former investors of beleaguered American Principals Holdings who invested at least $30 million in the Del Mar investment firm filed the class-action lawsuit against the firm and dozens of other defendants, alleging fraud and violations of various securities laws. The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in San Diego, also names Private Ledger Financial Services and Crown Life Insurance of Toronto. Since 1980, American Principals and its subsidiaries raised and managed more than $70 million from about 3,000 investors.
