UCLA Has Little Trouble Beating CSUN in Volleyball

Arnie Lamberg had 12 kills Friday to lead UCLA to a 15-9, 15-6, 8-15, 15-5 volleyball win over host Cal State Northridge.
The loss, CSUN’s fifth straight, dropped the Matadors to 3-12 in the California Intercollegiate Volleyball Assn. and 14-17 overall, and UCLA improved its league record to 10-5.
Dave Shaffer stood out for CSUN, with 11 kills, 3 solo blocks, 2 block assists and 5 digs. CSUN Mike Bird added nine kills and Randy Huffman seven.
UCLA hit .330 as a team, compared to .200 for CSUN. And UCLA had 8 solo blocks and 8 assists to the Matadors’ 7 and 4, respectively.
