N. Ireland to Get New Police Board

BELFAST, Northern Ireland —
Britain’s minister for Northern Ireland announced plans to form a new commission to deal with complaints against the police in Ulster.
Douglas Hurd said the province’s highly criticized Police Complaints Board will be replaced with a commission made up of members of the judiciary, who would be independent of the government and police.
