Chinese Shelling Reported

BANGKOK, Thailand —
Chinese troops fired thousands of artillery rounds into one of Vietnam’s northern border provinces during the past week, Radio Hanoi reported Saturday. The broadcast, monitored in Bangkok, said the Chinese fired 5,000 shells into Vi Xuyen district of Ha Tuyen province, while sending commando groups to infiltrate across the frontier.
