Construction on a $4-million marine service center west of the Coast Guard Air Station on Harbor Drive, San Diego, is scheduled to start at the end of October, 1986. Construction is expected to take 22 months.

The developer, Service Cove Inc., plans to include 54 boat slips, 22,000 square feet of office and shop space, 2,000 square feet of floating maintenance shops and a floating fuel dock. Designer of the facility is Keniston & Mosher Partners, San Diego, which is providing planning, architecture, interior design and energy engineering services.

Jack Mosher, project manager, said: “The primary building is designed as a ‘shopping mall’ of marine-related service shops and offices with each tenant space opening into a three-story mall space.” Tenants will include naval architects, yacht brokerages, marine insurance brokers, admiralty attorneys, marine financing services, a sail loft, boat chartering service, marine chandlery and light service shops.
