New incorporations increased 11.9% in October.

New incorporations for the month totaled 55,216, up from 49,331 in October, 1983, according to Dun & Bradstreet Corp. For the first 10 months of 1984, new incorporations totaled 533,562, a gain of 6.6% over the 500,507 new incorporations chartered in the first 10 months of 1983. Fifteen states registered increases of more than 20%, compared to year-ago levels. New York continued to lead the states with the largest number of incorporations with 57,407. Florida was second with 56,236 and California third with 51,564. The New England region had the largest 10-month percentage gain, 12.8%. The South Atlantic was second, a 9.9% gain and the Pacific region third with a 9.7% gain.
