Van Nuys Man Guilty of Molesting Daughter
A 41-year-old Van Nuys man was found guilty Tuesday of sexually abusing his 10-year-old daughter. Frank A. Balcorta could be sentenced to a maximum jail term of 22 years on the conviction on seven counts of child molestation and two counts of sodomy.
Balcorta, a practical nurse, showed no emotion as the jury foreman read the verdict in Superior Court in Van Nuys.
The incidents took place between October and December, 1981, when Balcorta, who is divorced, took temporary custody of his daughter, Deputy Dist. Atty. Kenneth Freeman said.
Superior Court Judge James A. Albracht ordered Balcorta to County Jail pending sentencing May 14.
