W. Germany Offers ‘Star Wars’ Support

Chancellor Helmut Kohl today declared his full support for President Reagan’s “Star Wars” defense program and said West Germany will begin discussions on joining the project.

But in a declaration to Parliament, Kohl said Bonn will not allow Washington to put it under pressure to reach a quick decision and will stress that it wants a fair exchange of research findings, not a “technological one-way street.”
