Drought Brings Water Use Curbs in North New Jersey

TRENTON, N.J. — Gov. Thomas H. Kean declared a drought emergency in six northern New Jersey counties Wednesday and established water use restrictions to conserve dwindling supplies.
Kean said that the state’s water shortage--the worst in 55 years--has reduced water levels in northern New Jersey reservoirs by about half.
