Orange : Chapman College Asks Aid in Finding Alumni

Share

Chapman College officials, trying to find five alumni from the school’s Class of 1935 for a 50-year reunion scheduled for next month, are asking the public for assistance.

The missing alumni--believed to be living in the Los Angeles area--are William Bailie, Ruby Hamilton, Seiji Namiki, Rita Robles and Albert Schroeader.

In 1935, Chapman College was located on Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles. The school moved to its Orange campus in 1954.

The 44-member Class of 1935 was the first to receive diplomas from Chapman, which before that year was known as California Christian College.

Of the 44 alumni, 13 have died. Except for the five missing alumni, everyone else has been contacted about the May 25 reunion and baccalaureate ceremony the following day.

Readers who may be in contact with the alumni are asked to call the Rev. Dean K. Echols, the college’s director of alumni affairs, at 997-6783.
