China Reports Incursions

PEKING —
China said Monday that its southern frontier forces have repulsed dozens of Vietnamese military incursions that this month killed or wounded 29 Chinese civilians. The official New China News Agency said Vietnamese troops made more than 20 armed attacks and fired 18,000 shells at Chinese positions in southern Yunnan province.
