New Ordinance Aimed at Cruising
An ordinance passed by the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday gives the Sheriff’s Department broader powers to crack down on cruising, allowing deputies to set up roadblocks on county streets or highways.
Sheriff’s Lt. Dick Walls said the ordinance will help deputies control sporadic cruising problems along Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood and Whittier Boulevard in East Los Angeles.
