4 Gold Miners Killed

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa —
Four miners were killed and 18 injured Wednesday in an accident almost two miles below ground at the Kloof Gold Mine near Johannesburg, mine operators said. A statement said that the men were killed when pressure burst a shaft 9,500 feet underground. More than 10,000 miners have died in South African mines in the last 20 years.
