It’s Time to Trade In on the Dodgers’ Defense

Share

The fans who continue to render the Dodgers team champions in attendance deserve a championship-caliber team. Of course, you can’t win ‘em all, but despite outstanding pitching, the prognosis for the next few years is frightening unless they trade to provide major league defense. Pedro Guerrero and Al Oliver expend so much mental energy playing out of position that they can’t hit. Others, like Dave Anderson, struggle to be average. Trade now rather than cry later.

I sometimes suspect that as long as the turnstiles keep clicking, Mr. Campanis will be satisfied with fantasy trade rumors and deals that fall apart.
