Tax Protesters Get Prison in Fraud Case

Four members of a tax protest group have been sentenced to four-year prison terms for their part in a scheme to promote the filing of false and fraudulent federal income tax reports.

U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges, in his sentencing Friday, said Charles W. Herzog, 71; his son, Michael D. Herzog, 35, and James D. Corbitt, 49, all of Tampa, and Bob Golden, 38, of Canton, Ohio, posed a danger to the economic safety of the community.
